All these died in faith, without receiving the promises,
but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance,
and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.
For those who say such things make it clear that they are
seeking a a country of their own.
And indeed if they had been
thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have
                            had opportunity to return.
But as it is they desire a better country, that is a heavenly one.
    Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God;

for He has prepared a city for them.

                                        Hebrews 11:13-16  (emphasis added)

This is my confession:  I desire to live as a stranger and exile while on this earth - not being conformed to this sin and suffering filled world.  I want to be, with the help of the Holy Spirit, rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, at peace with all mankind, and living for the glory of God my savior.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

For this week's Just a Graphics Challenge between valiantarcher and I, here are two icons - Narnian, because I haven't done a Narnia graphic in a while:

Better late than never. And it's not even eleven yet. *shock*

EDIT: [Jan 26, 2014] I hope this isn't bad form, but instead of making another new post for another set of two graphics, I'll just add them onto this one.  :P So, for this week's Just a Graphics Challenge, I've made this sig:

and here's an icon which I made a week or two back:

That's all for now folks!

EDIT: [March 3, 2014] Just one icon for this week's Challenge, plus an older sig - and I really couldn't make a post for two graphics right now. Will it help if I promise not to edit this post again?  :"P

^ A simple one from October Baby - the text came with the image and I decided not to remove it - it reads "Life is Beautiful"
v Hawkeye, of course.  :)

I know it's been a while. *blush* Yes, I've been on tumblr. *gasps of horror from all and sundry*

I'm back to share a few icons I put together, however. Not as many as I used to post, but here we are:

[The Fall]
[The Book Thief]

A grand total of five.  Ah, well. There they are, for what it's worth. Feel free to use - credit is appreciated though. Let it be noted that The Book Thief icons I made specifically for the Just a Graphics Challenge.  :D

How this works: Comment with your favorite color and I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know you better. Update your journal with the answers to the questions. Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.

Due to the upcoming movie (which I plan to see with my mom), I gave in to my slow-burning interest in reading Les Miserables. Upon receiving the hold at the library, I was pretty much floored by the sheer size of this book. It's the size of my dad's The City of God, for goodness' sakes!

At this point, I'm on Section iii of Book V of Part 1 - roughly 1/8th of the way through the book. The first bit, when the Bishop is introduced, was rough going. I think I understand the reasons behind such an elaborate introduction; even though he's only involved right at the beginning, that man's actions precipitate so much of the following plot. Also, his awesome kindness and righteousness needed to be believably established prior to his meeting Jean ValJean. (Am I missing anything?) But to be honest, I can't help feeling part of the reason for it all was to winnow out the weaker readers!  : P
Since getting past that first roadblock, I have been enjoying the tale. I keep wishing for an annotated edition, though. So much historical detail cropping up, of which I am ignorant.

  On I forge.

As of tomorrow my family will be goatless for the foreseeable future. It's rather strange to think about, and I know I shall miss them. I already do, to be honest.

Come next spring it would be seven years we've had a little "Farm". But the decision has been reached by all of us that the era of goats is over. Family members growing up and branching out have made it difficult to care for them, and we haven't been on a family vacation longer than two nights since we started out with a herd of three in 2006. That is, of course, part and parcel of raising any farm-type animal. It's time to move on.
So the last kidding has passed. The last mid-night cold-night kid check has past. In an hour or two, the last feeding will be past.
I'm going to start crying, if I keep this up...
I must keep in mind that the last mucking-out will soon be over, as well.

You don't know what you've got until it's time to give it up. Every person knows that, but no one realizes it until it comes down to it.
